A high school English teacher in California claimed that she undermines “white supremacy” in her classroom by teaching students about the exaggeration of the importance of writing rules and grammar usage.
Marta Shaffer, a tenured English teacher at Oroville High School, began this school year by teaching parts of linguistics as a way of “fighting white supremacy in my classes,” according to Fox News. Her goal, she stated on TikTok, was to be “inclusive of all kinds of ways we use the language.”
“As an educator, I’m constantly worried if I’m the problem,” Shaffer said. “What do I mean by that? Well, public education is an institution that upholds lots of problematic systems in our society, like white supremacy and misogyny and colonization, et cetera.”

She’s right., She is the problem. People like Shaffer are robbing children of an education to satisfy their own warped sense of “justice.”
In order to feel good about her leftist woke self, Shaffer is teaching her students that the rules of the English language should not be taken too seriously. Students who take her flawed lessons to heart will have trouble getting a job because they can’t speak or write the English language up to the proficiency that is demanded for the job they are applying.

According to Shaffer, expecting students to use proper syntax and grammar “are all made up rules. They’re arbitrary. They were created by Westerners in power, in linguistic justice” and part of ‘white supremacy’ that “runs deep,” adding that she tries “to undermine that BS in my classroom as much as I can.”
What a lunatic. The English language, like any language, was created as a communication tool. Race was not a factor.
Isn’t it “interesting’ how leftists use today’s woke standards to judge everyone and everything from hundreds of years ago. That’s because leftists are stupid people. They are ideologues. For leftists, everything is political. And they can’t help themselves.
“We study linguistics and the rules that we actually use to communicate instead of the made-up rules that white supremacy created for when we write papers and stuff, which is what scholars call the ‘language of power.'”
There was no such thing as white supremacy when the English language was created. This bonehead would probably argue that to speak Spanish in Spain would be a form of bigotry to those who don’t speak it.
She went on, “Well, let’s look at how we write essays [where we] start with an introduction that includes a thesis, always cite your sources, use transition words like ‘however’ and ‘therefore.’ These are all made-up rules. They were created by Westerners in power. [Did she expect the creators of English (Westerners) to outsource the job to another culture?]Which got me thinking, what if I started my school year with a unit honoring how we talk rather than teaching students how to write properly.”
What if the school were to remove her tenure on moral grounds that she is harming her students? Then, the school board could easily vote to throw her rear end out the door and tell her to never come back.
Tenure is the problem. College professors with tenure was bad enough, but if I’m paying for college and I don’t like the professors there, I can take my money and go somewhere else.
In a system where your high school is dependent in large on your zip code, you can’t very easily move to another school of your choice. I believe tenure in high schools is so that you cannot fire a teacher like Shaffer who is harming her students by teaching them leftist gobbledygook.
In another video obtained by the outlet, Schaffer stated that a student’s “codes” – how they communicate at home or with friends – are “just as important, if not more important,” than a boss’s expectations of how their employees communicate.
“Just because your teachers, your professors, and your boss may expect you to write and speak in a certain way that may not be natural to you, does not mean that your more natural… languages are not important. They are just as important, if not more important than the ‘language of respectability.’”
It may not be a natural way of speaking for the person because they were taught English by people who are themselves ignorant of the language.
When “teaching students of color” about linguistics, Schaffer says she feels like a “cringe white lady.”
That’s because she suffers from WLG, “white leftist guilt.” White leftist guilt is an affliction that happens to many woke leftists who think if they trash their own race they will not be beaten down by the rest of the members of the woke supremacy in which they all belong.
“Did I worry I was being a white savior? Absolutely. Was it uncomfortable? Definitely. But a lot of my students come here, and they’re uncomfortable with the white mainstream culture of public school life. So, I think it’s good for them to see their teacher deal with linguistic discomfort, too.”
Does this mean that Shaffer wants students of color to not use or consume the English language in how it is intended to be used?
The IQ bell curve and the SATs, according to Schaffer, are “racist” because “the writers of these tests were made up almost entirely of white people… and they still are.”
When leftists make claims like this about testing being unfair to blacks and other people of color, they are saying, possibly unwittingly, that the people they are trying to appease are not proficient enough in their native language to pass a test that is written in said language.
Leftists are destroying our country, our culture, and now our children and future generations. This woman should be shown the door for racism. Yes, I said racism. In her own words, Shaffer declared that the English language is a white supremacist language, which in turn means people who use it effectively (white people, according to Shaffer’s insinuations) are white supremacists.
