Democrat Ted Lieu Thinks Demanding Accountability From FBI For Mar-a-Lago Raid Is ‘Cultish, un-American, treasonous behavior’

On Sunday, Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA), quite possibly one of the dumbest members of Congress, said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” that “MAGA Republicans” who defend former President Donald Trump after the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago home, are engaged in “cultish, un-American, treasonous behavior.”

Who gives a rat’s [rhymes with brass] what Ted Lieu thinks? He is part of the Orange Man Bad cult and its nonstop assaults on Trump and his family.

Actually, it is Ted Lieu who is engaging in cultish, un-American, treasonous behavior when, as a sitting member of Congress, he accepts that the Biden administration can weaponize federal law enforcement against political opponents like a third world banana republic dictatorship. That is un-American.

Lieu’s appearance on MSNBC is nothing more than another attempt of the Democrat’s never-ending election interference to get Trump to not be able to run in 2024.

Witt said, “What is interesting is listening to Trump defenders. They have constantly shifted the goalposts by first off demanding the release of a search warrant and then the release of an affidavit. Now they want sensitive government secrets to be declassified and just put out there in the public.”

These clods act like Trump supporters and/or people who are afraid that the federal government is grossly out of control are the ones on offense when all they are doing is demanding accountability from the government for raiding a former president’s home for documents they knew were there because the FBI went over them two months ago in June. The FBI was at Mar-a-Lago in June when Trump gave them full access to the documents in question. He even stopped by to say hello to the agents. The agents on the scene were satisfied and the only thing they asked was if they could put their own padlock on the secured location. Trump kept them, and he agreed.

Former George W. Bush administration official John Yoo said to Fox News, “Why not declassify the documents they actually took from President Trump and show the public what they were?”

The problem there is the narrative that the documents weren’t already declassified. Trump had a standing order as president that anything that goes to Mar-a-Lago is automatically declassified. As the president, Trump had the authority to do that. Two court cases, one a precedent case, declared a president has the ultimate authority over classifying and declassifying documents.

Department of the Navy v. Egan was a 1988 US Supreme Court decision that is constantly used as meaning to support broad presidential authority over national security generally and over access to classified information in particular.

In 2012, a case called Judicial Watch v. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) where the government watchdog group Judicial Watch was seeking to have secret audio tapes former President Bill Clinton apparently kept in a sock drawer in his home released. Obama-appointed Judge Amy Berman Jackson dismissed the case, saying that NARA does not have the authority to deem what constitutes “Presidential records.”

“The Court will grant the motion to dismiss pursuant to Rule 12(b)(1) because plaintiff’s claim is not redressable. NARA does not have the authority to designate materials as “Presidential records,” NARA does not have the tapes in question, and NARA lacks any right, duty, or means to seize control of them. In other words, there has been no showing that a remedy would be available to redress plaintiff’s alleged injury even if the Court agreed with plaintiff’s characterization of the materials. Since plaintiff is completely unable to identify anything the Court could order the agency to do that the agency has any power, much less, a mandatory duty, to do, the case must be dismissed.” [Emphasis added]

We can’t now change the rules for one man, which is exactly what the Democrats and their sycophants have done since the day Trump rode down the escalator. That includes federal judges who tried to make life miserable by ruling injunctions against the Trump administration for things the courts knew were perfectly valid, making the process a punishment for the audacity of winning an election.

Lieu said, “John Yoo’s comments are insane. What he is saying is, he would want top secret documents and documents that are beyond top secret to appear on the front pages of the New York Times, on your show so that I can see them my dentist, my neighbor and the Russians and the Iranians, solely to protect Donald Trump. This is cultish, un-American, treasonous behavior. You cannot just declassify all these documents and put it into the public domain simply to prevent Donald Trump from prosecution. That is a very treasonous argument. Any MAGA Republican making it should be ashamed of themselves.”

The Democrats are trying to create a narrative that the documents the FBI unlawfully seized are not already declassified when we know they are. The dirty little secret is that the documents are mostly evidence of Barack Obama‘s FBI, DOJ, and intelligence community’s culpability in the Operation Crossfire Hurricane debacle where they spied on Trump’s presidential campaign in an effort to help his Democrat opponent Hillary Clinton. This is where Obama’s FBI went on to lie to a FISA Court to obtain a secretive FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s campaign. Trump declassified and held the documents that prove the Obama administration’s culpability for their crimes. That’s what the FBI was so desperate to get their hands on.

It appears that Lieu is involved in a coverup for the Biden administration. He does not want the world to know what is in the already declassified documents and so he put on a show for an MSNBC audience to make it appear that Trump did something wrong. Gosh, where have we seen that tactic before? #smg

Lieu added, “He knew that they were classified, and he intentionally took them. I also note that if the MAGA Republican argument is that these should be declassified, then they have got to ask themselves, why do we want to names and locations and against these of U.S. spies out there in Vanity Fair? That is an insane argument.”

Lieu is apparently ignorant of the fact that presidents have the ultimate authority on classifying and declassifying documents. President Trump declassified the documents that Ted Lieu is now claiming are classified and should not be declassified. Even if Joe Biden classified them again, the congressman from California should stop lying to the American people by acting like they were never declassified. That’s despicable, even for him.
