The reconciliation bill Democrats have been pushing through the House of Representatives will force the American taxpayer to subsidize the boot-licking sycophants of the Democratic Party; the media. The bill proposes a special tax cut for local news outlets under the guise of helping “local journalists” but eligible media outlets will receive the funds for up to 1,500 reporters per outlet.
This provision would provide a refundable payroll tax credit up to 50 percent of wages up to $12,500 per quarter per employee for the first four calendar quarters and a 30 percent credit per quarter after that.
I thought Democrats hated tax cuts? How are the Democrats going to pay for them? Isn’t that what they always ask Republicans when they want to give the American people a tax cut?
At the end of the 2,000-page bill, on page 1,957, under Section 138516, the provision would create a tax credit for news organizations, including newspapers and broadcasters such as radio and television:
“The number of local news journalists which may be taken into account under subsection (a) with respect to any eligible local news journalist employer for any calendar quarter shall not exceed 1,500.”
The Democrats are the biggest slimeballs ever. Instead of working to make the lives of the American people better, they spend all of their time figuring out how to grab more power. Local news outlets, mostly, just report the news. They normally don’t lie for Democrats like CNN and MSNBC. So they will get the local newspapers and broadcast outlets etc. accustomed to the tax cuts and then, like the mafia, the Democrats will start threatening to remove the tax cuts if they don’t start reporting the news using the spin they want. That’s a quid pro quo.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe Poynter Institute, a non-profit journalism school and research organization in St. Petersburg, Florida, recently bragged about the tax cut claiming that it would benefit “broadcasters, public and commercial” on top of newspapers. They are looking at dollar signs and not the shackles the Democrats are trying to slip them into. Or maybe they do realize it and won’t complain until a Republican is in the White House.
Both NPR and PBS will be eligible for the special soul-sucking tax cut.
ProPublica, a progressive group, is going through stolen personal IRS files of thousands of Americans and, using the data to trash rich people, is going to be eligible as well. The bill allows 501(c)3 groups, such as ProPublica, to be eligible but not 501(c)4 groups. ProPublica is griping about “lavish lifestyles” of unfavorable “rich” Americans. Could ProPublica be eligible because they are doing the dirty work of the Democrats by pushing class warfare gobbledygook?
The Democrats made sure to knock out the little guys in this one. Maybe that’s because most of them are not on Team Democrat but on team journalism instead. The way they did it was in order to be eligible you have to have “media liability insurance,” and most one-man shops that cover local events in their communities can’t afford it. I smell a lawsuit.
The bill is a way to make even more of the media beholden to the Democrats. They use the tax code as a cudgel on corporations to bend the knee to the Democratic Party and it’s disgusting.
