On Wednesday, Brandon Straka, the Founder of the #WalkAway movement, pled guilty to a Class B misdemeanor of disorderly conduct for being on or remaining on US Capitol grounds on January 6. To be clear, a Class B misdemeanor is on the same level as graffiti.
The Democrats and their boot-licking sycophants in the mainstream news media wanted you to believe that social media influencers, people like Straka who were there at the Capitol on January 6 were all Qanon white supremacist conspiracy theorist Russian agents who wanted to take over the US government and after the insurrection they would install a new emperor of the United States.
The truth of the matter is Brandon Straka never entered the Capitol building. He never stepped one foot inside. He never committed an act of violence and never encouraged anyone to commit violence or enter the building. I bet you didn’t hear that on CNN.
According to sources familiar with the case, Straka was on the east side of the Capitol building. The riot broke out on the west side. There were no Capitol Police at that time on the east side, probably because they weren’t needed. Nothing suspicious was going on there. According to the source, at the time he approached the area, there were thousands of people who looked calm and were holding signs. There were no signs of violence and no angry mobs.
Straka was on actual Capitol grounds for about 10 minutes. He was in the surrounding area for 30 minutes, tops. He committed no acts of violence and he didn’t encourage anyone else to commit violence. He had no intentions of causing trouble. Like 99% of the crowd, Straka was there to have his voice heard and to support President Trump. The people there simply wanted then Vice President Mike Pence to hold off the certification of states until a series of election audits were performed. That was in Pence’s power to do, but he declined to do it.
Americans are known to protest. Under the Constitution, American citizens have the right to redress their grievances with the government. Unless, of course, you’re a Trump supporter who caused major problems for the Democratic Party’s membership numbers.

For less time than it takes to get a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, Facebook permanently banned not only the official WalkAway Campaign page, but Straka’s personal page and the personal pages of those who work for the movement. For 10 minutes and never entering a building, Straka was subsequently banned from using PayPal, Stripe, Venmo and many other services, in an effort to ensure he cannot earn a living.
Starting in early 2017, Straka created and grew a campaign against violence, against incivility. He championed a cause to bring respect and civil discourse back into politics.
Straka created an amazing network of people who got fed up with the Democratic Party making promises before every election they never meant to keep. The movement is made up of people like Straka who got sick of the lies, the misinformation and disinformation that is spread every day by the Left. Initially posting a video on YouTube giving his reasons why he was walking away from the Democratic Party, he started something that I don’t think even he knew what it would one day grow into.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans joined the #WalkAway movement, and that’s why the Democrats went after him for only 10 minutes of time spent on Capitol grounds when he didn’t commit any acts of violence and never stepped one foot inside a building and never encouraged anyone to go inside.
Straka was more than just the #WalkAway movement. He became a status symbol of a disobedient middle class that stands up to political corruption and demands accountability from its leaders. He campaigned for nearly every facet of Trump’s America First movement. I dare say there are many politicians who got elected in part because of #WalkAway and in part through Straka’s efforts to campaign on their behalf.
And they all abandoned him in his time of need. I haven’t heard of any GOP politicians or conservative groups reaching out to him since January 6, including the Trump organization. For whatever reasons, they simply turned their backs on him after all he has done for the movement. It’s not right.
The Democrats targeted Straka because of how effective he is at the grassroots level and the Republicans have not reached out. Only Democrats leave people behind. That’s not the America First way.
