I’m getting tired of watching Democrats and their media allies (let’s be honest, they’re basically the same team at this point) spin lies about who’s really behind the government shutdown and what their true motives are. The narrative they’re pushing just doesn’t match the facts.
So, as someone who values truth and actually does his homework, I’ve pulled together a list of clear, verifiable points that show exactly how the Democratic Party is responsible for the mess we’re in when it comes to funding the government.
With that in mind, here are a few things worth considering, straight from publicly available information and not filtered through the partisan echo chamber.
The House of Representatives passed H.R. 5371, The Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026:
FACT: The Republican House passed a clean Continuing Resolution (CR). That means no pork, no partisan add-ons, enough money to keep the government open while Congress negotiated future spending.
FACT: All the Senate had to do was pass that same clean CR that Chuck Schumer only weeks prior voted for, saying, “It was the right thing to do.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELFACT: Democrats thought they could gain leverage by threatening a shutdown and blaming Republicans if they didn’t cave to Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer’s demands. Schumer has always used the looming threat of a shutdown to get what he wants, and history shows that Republicans usually cave over the false reporting by the mainstream news media, placing blame for a shutdown on Republicans. But this time, it backfired because the House Republicans sent Schumer a clean CR. There was nothing to negotiate. The negotiations would come after the clean CR was passed, and Schumer knows that.
FACT: Schumer then demanded over $1 trillion for healthcare for illegal aliens, $500 billion to revive PBS and NPR, and a long list of other absurd requests before he’d agree to vote to open the government.
Here is a list of the Senate Democrats’ demands to pass a clean CR:

FACT: Democrat governors like Josh Shapiro have been lying to you, claiming that the Republicans are responsible for keeping the government shut down. Maybe Governor Shapiro doesn’t realize, or simply doesn’t understand, that the Republicans have voted numerous times to pass the clean CR to fund the government, while his party voted to keep the government shut down.

FACT: Democrats have also lied by saying that because Republicans control the White House, House, and Senate, they’re to blame for the shutdown. What they leave out is that it takes 60 votes to get cloture to end a Democrat filibuster on a clean CR. Republicans have 53 senators, and every one of them voted for the clean CR. That means at least seven Democrats need to vote yes. So far, only three have, including Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman. And now Democrats are reportedly scheming to push him out of the Senate for it.
FACT: Republicans have voted 13 times to fund the government, including the SNAP program. Democrats have voted 13 times against funding it.
Here is Section 116 that shows the SNAP, WIC, and other programs would have been funded if the Senate Democrats voted to pass the clean CR:
Sec. 116. Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Section 116 allows the Department of Agriculture to continue providing food assistance to low-income women, infants, and children during the CR.
Only sociopaths would turn around and claim that after voting 13 times to block government funding, it’s somehow the Republicans’ fault.
The Democratic Party has revealed itself as a corrupt and reckless force, prioritizing its hunger for political power over essential programs like SNAP and WIC that millions of Americans rely on.
