So, it only took eight years, but the FBI has finally decided to hit the brakes on one of its Russiagate ringmasters. “The FBI has placed one of the central figures who concocted the Russiagate hoax on administrative leave—signaling what appears to be a long-overdue purge of officials who undermined President Donald Trump in his first term.”
The man in the spotlight? Brian Auten. Yeah, that Brian Auten—one of the guys peddling the now-infamous Russia collusion tale back in 2016. But that’s not all. This same Auten also had his hands on the Hunter Biden laptop investigation. And if you guessed that probe was slow-walked into oblivion, give yourself a cookie. “Equally damning, he worked on the FBI’s investigation of the Hunter Biden laptop—a probe that whistleblowers said did not receive proper scrutiny, likely in a bid to protect former President Joe Biden.”
His suspension was first reported by the New York Times, of all places. “Auten’s suspension, reported first on Friday by the liberal New York Times, comes as no surprise.” Which is like hearing your habitual liar of a neighbor finally got caught cheating at poker—shocking to no one.
Auten wasn’t just any cog in the Bureau’s machine. He climbed the ladder to become “the FBI’s top Russian analyst.” And in that role, he apparently rubber-stamped the infamous Steele dossier—the one Clinton’s campaign paid for, chock-full of wild, unverified claims tying Trump to Russia. “In 2016 and 2017, he infamously cleared the Steele dossier— a collection of salacious allegations created for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which sought to tie Donald Trump to the Kremlin.”
And what did the FBI do with that flaming pile of fiction? They used it to get FISA warrants and spy on Carter Page, a Trump campaign adviser. Because, you know, that’s how justice works, right?
Oh, and Auten forgot to mention to the court that one of Steele’s key sources, Igor Danchenko, had credibility issues the size of a Russian winter. “Auten also never informed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court about the FBI’s longstanding concerns about FBI informant Igor Danchenko, who helped Christopher Steele compile his bogus dossier.”

Former Trump official Kash Patel isn’t letting this slide. In his book Government Gangsters, Patel lays out the ugly truth about the deep state operatives who seemed to think elections only count if their side wins. “In Government Gangsters, Patel documents how more than 50 ‘corrupt actors’ within the deep state actively worked to undermine Trump’s election and subsequent administration after 2016.”
And what does Patel think of Auten skating without real consequences? “Yet just like his superiors, Auten has faced no real accountability in light of these findings,” Patel wrote, as quoted by The Times. “The fact that Auten was not fired from the F.B.I. and prosecuted for his part in the Russia Gate conspiracy is a national embarrassment.” Can’t say we disagree.
According to Patel, the Bureau didn’t just fumble the Hunter Biden laptop story—they actively tried to bury it. “According to Patel, the FBI attempted to ‘hide and spin’ the ‘Biden family corruption’ revealed by the laptop.” So much for equal justice under the law.
Let’s talk about the laptop itself. Among its many, “What in the actual heck?” moments were documents showing that “at least 10 percent of the payments received by Hunter during the Obama-Biden administration were earmarked for someone known as the ‘Big Guy.’” Mysterious, right? Not really.
That mystery was solved in testimony from Hunter’s former business partner. “Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter, testified before Congress that the ‘Big Guy’ was none other than Biden.” Not Hunter. Not Beau. Not Corn Pop. Joe Biden.
And wouldn’t you know it—“Biden would ultimately run for president in 2020, and later moved to pardon his son and siblings for their roles in influence-peddling schemes exposed by congressional investigators.” Just your standard family cleanup operation, Washington-style.
