So here’s something you don’t see every day. Senator John Fetterman is thanking the Trump administration. That’s right. A Democrat giving credit where it’s due, and not just in passing. He’s actually applauding President Trump’s team for releasing more than a billion dollars in infrastructure grants to Pennsylvania.
Here’s how Fetterman put it: “I’ve made clear I’d work across the aisle, find common ground, and secure wins for PA. After a few good-faith meetings, I thank @SecDuffy for being a man of his word and putting politics aside. We will now have $1 BILLION in infrastructure funding released for our commonwealth.”

That’s not exactly what you expect from a guy who usually toes the party line. But when money is involved, and when Trump’s team is getting things done while Biden’s team sat on it, even Democrats start waking up.
So what actually happened here? The Department of Transportation, now run by Secretary Sean Duffy — yes, a Trump appointee — just greenlit about $1.2 billion in federal grants for Pennsylvania. That’s not pocket change. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, those funds are headed to 53 projects across the state.
And here’s the kicker. That money was already approved under Biden, but it was just sitting there. Not being used. Not obligated. Not moving. Secretary Duffy told Breitbart News that this was part of a huge backlog of untouched federal dollars. So basically, the Biden team had the money and did absolutely nothing with it.
But Fetterman — who, again, is a Democrat — didn’t sit on his hands. He worked with Duffy and got results. DOT officials even confirmed that the ten “priority grants” they had discussed with Fetterman had already cleared review. Two have already been obligated. That’s action, not press releases.
Fetterman went on X and said it bluntly: “We will now have $1 BILLION in infrastructure funding released for our commonwealth.”
That’s a big win. And it didn’t come from photo ops or virtue signaling. It came from meetings and agreements. Real ones.
Before Duffy was even confirmed as Secretary, Fetterman backed him. He met with him. He supported him. And apparently, he still does:
I enjoyed meeting @SeanDuffyWI and expect to vote YES on his nomination.
We agreed on many things, especially appreciating him quietly acknowledging the Steelers are better than the Packers. https://t.co/jITqRxvEbX

“When I stopped by Secretary Duffy’s office in April, he readily and graciously received me for an unannounced visit,” Fetterman said. “I came in good faith to work across the aisle and fight for these endangered infrastructure projects … More than $1 billion in funding that was at risk is now back on track.”
Again, we’re talking about John Fetterman here. Not Joe Manchin. Not Kyrsten Sinema. The same guy who used to rail against Trump is now giving credit to his team.
“Secretary Duffy and I put politics aside and affirmed that our nation’s infrastructure is bipartisan.”
That sentence might actually cause someone at MSNBC to pass out. Because while most of his party is busy trying to score cheap political points, Fetterman is playing grown-up.
And this isn’t some isolated moment either. In recent months, Fetterman’s been doing something totally radical for a Democrat. He’s been telling the truth. He supported ICE. He said Trump’s strikes on Iran were the “correct move.” He called out his own party for backing Hamas terrorists.
Imagine that. A Democrat acting like a senator, not a Twitter activist.
So while the rest of the party performs for cameras, Fetterman just partnered with Trump’s transportation secretary to secure over a billion dollars in infrastructure funding for Pennsylvania.
And that tells you something. It tells you who’s actually governing and who’s just pretending.
