On CNN’s “The Lead With Jake Tapper” on Tuesday, House Minority Leader Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) argued that the report by Merrick Garland-appointed Special Counsel Robert Hur “was inappropriate, gratuitous, unconscionable, and in many ways, un-American,” and that Hur’s motives were not pure, whatever conclusions he reached.
Host Jake Tapper remarked, “Before you go, sir, lots of concerns expressed by voters and by Special Counsel Hur about President Biden’s age, his mental faculties. What’s your response?”
Jeffries said, “Well, the report by the Special Counsel was inappropriate, gratuitous, unconscionable, and, in many ways, un-American. The American people just simply want the truth, and the truth is that President Biden did nothing wrong and was completely and totally exonerated, period, full stop. The fact that the Special Counsel decided to personally attack President Biden reveals that his motives were [im]pure and that any conclusions that he made in that report, separate and apart from the facts and the law, should be dismissed.”
The truth is Biden wasn’t exonerated at all. The special counsel said he did break the law by having the classified documents, but he wasn’t going to charge him because he’s lost his mind. Instead of referring to dementia, the special counsel said Biden was suffering from memory loss.
For many Americans, this was seen as a hit job by Democrats who are pulling the strings of the current White House because Joe Biden can not win reelection. Many believe Barack Obama and/or Hillary Clinton called the shot to get Hur to write about Biden’s dementia. Because the Democrats have decided that Joe must resign, Jeffries is merely playing a game by acting as though he is outraged by the report.
