According to a lawsuit from the Center for Accountability and Government Ethics, John Fetterman, the Democratic candidate for the Senate from Pennsylvania and lieutenant governor, paid just $1,100 for a Braddock home worth $75,000 that he had previously purchased from his own non-profit organization.
The group, a spinoff from the CPAC Foundation, claimed that Fetterman and Jebediah Feldman, vice president of the nonprofit’s board and deputy mayor of Braddock, used the nonprofit Braddock Redux, run by Fetterman and intended as a mechanism to revitalize the steel town over which he was mayor, as a means for a real estate deal.
Feldman purchased the parcel for $75,000 in his own name in 2007 according to the complaint, which was addressed to the Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth and Pennsylvania Ethics Commission. He sold the property to Braddock Redux for $1 four years later. The tract was bought by the Senate candidate for just 8% of market value three years later, when Braddock Redux sold it to Fetterman for $1,100. The Daily Caller was the first to get the complaint.
Why would he purchase property for $75k and then sell it for $1 four years later? Was this part of one of those back room deals Democrats are known for? Was it a quid pro quo of some sort? You sell me this property on the cheap and I’ll use the influence of my office to get you whatever you want?
“The transaction history, the minimal value of the sale price of the property to Mr. Fetterman, and the magnitude of the discount of the property in question when compared to other properties on the same block give rise to the appearance of improper conduct,” the complaint said. “The president of a non-profit organization directing the organization to sell an asset to the president at a below-market rate would appear to be a clear violation of fiduciary obligations.”
At least Dr. Oz purchased his properties legitimately, with the money he earned.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe lawsuit was a “frivolous and ridiculous” attempt from a “far-right dark money group” supporting Republican nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz, according to Fetterman campaign spokesman Joe Calvello to The Daily Caller.
“John started Braddock Redux nearly two decades ago to help disadvantaged young people in Braddock and the surrounding area, and to create a community center for them,” Calvello remarked. “He is tremendously proud of what they accomplished while he was involved in terms of creating opportunities for Braddock youth, combating economic insecurity, helping reduce crime and gun violence, fostering a local arts resurgence, saving and restoring historical properties, and creating the Nyia Page Community Center to serve as a gathering and activity space for Braddock.”
The Center for Accountability and Government Ethics’ lawsuit is the second time that Fetterman is accused of breaking the law in relation to his properties. Despite the fact that candidates are required to submit a financial statement that “provides a ‘full and complete’ statement of their assets, debts, and income,” including properties “with a fair market value exceeding $1,000 as of the close of the reporting period.” Fetterman allegedly failed to disclose any of the eight Braddock properties he owns on disclosure documents filed for his Senate race.
Don’t forget that the now infamous debate between Fetterman and doctor oz where Fetterman proved that he’s not fit to serve in the US Senate, he kept harping on the fact that oz owns properties. He kept repeating that Oz owns 10 properties, and in the end Fetterman himself owns eight properties. Fetterman has left wing PACs out there that are putting out commercials pointing out how Oz owns a lot of properties, as if owning a lot of properties is somehow criminal. Well, if that’s the case, then how come they never pointed out that a Fetterman owns eight properties, and is that criminal? They would say no because the Democrats live by double standards.
Which major party will control Congress next year, will probably depend on this race. After months of Fetterman maintaining a sizable lead, Oz has risen in the polls in recent weeks, even surpassing Fetterman in polls, making the race a toss-up in the last week before election day. In the latter weeks of this election cycle, Pennsylvanians have been awakened to all the problems of John Fetterman, not just the fact that he had a stroke back in may.
If the Democrats allow us to have a free and fair election, Dr. Oz will be the next US Senator from Pennsylvania.
