President Joe Biden was asked on Monday by thirty liberal Democratic members of Congress to change his approach to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and pursue a diplomatic settlement in addition to his present backing for Kyiv in the form of military and financial aid.
Thirty House Democrats said in their letter to Biden, “Given the destruction created by this war for Ukraine and the world, as well as the risk of catastrophic escalation, we also believe it is in the interests of Ukraine, the United States, and the world to avoid a prolonged conflict.”
It sounds like they looked at their polling numbers and decided that stopping war might be good for them. Trust me, these cretins don’t give one damn about anyone but themselves. Just look at what they did to us for two years.
“For this reason, we urge you to pair the military and economic support the United States has provided to Ukraine with a proactive diplomatic push, redoubling efforts to seek a realistic framework for a ceasefire,” the letter said.
Republicans have warned that if their party takes control of Congress, financing for Ukraine may come under tighter control.
Representative Pramila Jayapal, the head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, was in charge of writing the letter.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELState Department spokesperson Ned Price said, “Right now, we have heard from Ukrainian partners, repeatedly, that this war will only end through diplomacy and dialogue. We have not heard any reciprocal statement or refrain from Moscow that they are ready in good faith to engage in that diplomacy and dialogue.”
But that’s a total lie. Putin did reach out just a couple of weeks ago and said if Ukraine signs a declaration that they will never join NATO, he would pull all the troops out. Reportedly, Ukraine President Zelensky was going for the deal. He had the document created and set up the signing ceremony. But then, the Biden administration interfered. Secretary of State Tony Blinkin allegedly contacts Zelensky and said he had to add in regime change in Russia for the deal. That’s when Zelensky changed his mind and came out to make a statement saying Ukraine welcomes a negotiated peace with the Russian president, but not this president.
Joe Biden interfered in a peace settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Maybe the thirty Democrats figured that out and they don’t want their Republican opponents in the midterms pointing it out.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in late February, the United States has committed over $66 billion to the country, giving Kiev financial assistance, humanitarian help, and military equipment.
Just two weeks remain until the U.S. midterm elections on November 8, which will decide which party controls Congress.
Concerns were raised that Republicans would cut off aid to Ukraine after House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy recently declared there will be no “blank check” for Ukraine if Republicans take over the chamber from Biden’s fellow Democrats.
