House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) criticized President Joe Biden after the White House said Biden would block H.R. 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which would make it illegal for people who are not citizens to vote.
“States already have effective safeguards in place to verify voters’ eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls,” the White House said in a statement, criticizing the proposed law, adding, “The evidence is clear that the current laws to prevent noncitizen voting are working as intended—it is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in federal elections.”
So, that means that the Biden administration does not care if an illegal alien negates an American citizen’s vote by voting illegally for Joe Biden, the man who allowed the illegal alien to come into our country and stay. The magnitude of that is breathtaking.
Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch tweeted out back in 2019 that during the 2018 midterm elections, over 900,000 illegal aliens voted.

MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD? I estimate at least 900,000 aliens illegally voted in midterms. New numbers out of Texas and Pennsylvania suggest foreign nationals illegally voting in massive numbers! Voter id AND citizenship verification needed! @JudicialWatch pic.twitter.com/3qRUpAaSIb

Speaker Johnson shot back, “It should alarm every American citizen that the sitting President of the United States, who has opened our border to over 9 million illegals, just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent noncitizens from voting.”

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act says it will “amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register a person to vote in federal office elections…” The bill would make it necessary to show proof of U.S. citizenship in order to vote. That proof could be a valid US passport, an ID card from the US military with a record of service that shows the applicant was born in the US, or a valid photo ID card from the US federal, state, or tribal government that shows the applicant was born in the US.
Along with a certified birth certificate from a state, a unit of local government in a state, or a tribal government, it could also include a legal photo ID card from the federal, state, or tribal government. A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate from a US hospital that shows they were born in the US, a final adoption decree that lists their name and the fact that they were born in the US, a consular report of birth abroad of an American citizen or a certification of the applicant’s report of birth by a US citizen issued by the Secretary of State, a naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship issued by the Secretary of Homeland Security, or any other document.
