So, here we go again with the Biden administration’s latest PR spin. Picture this: 3,000 reports of car-sized drones buzzing around military bases in New Jersey, and what’s the official line? Oh, those aren’t drones—just helicopters. Or maybe airplanes. Because who among us hasn’t mistaken a flying mega-drone for a harmless Boeing? Happens all the time, right?
John Kirby, the Biden White House’s professional deflector—oops, I mean National Security Council spokesman—held a press briefing to brush off concerns faster than you can say, “Nothing to see here.” He delivered his best “move along, folks” routine, claiming there’s absolutely no threat to national security or public safety. And no foreign involvement either. Here’s his actual quote:
“We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus.”
Feel reassured yet? No? Well, Kirby doubled down, insisting:
“Using very sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities, we have not been able to, and neither have state or [sic] local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the reported visual sightings.”
Translation: 3,000 people must have been hallucinating. Nothing to see here, folks. Sure, Karen.

“Upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.”
Oh, thank goodness! For a moment there, I thought we had a national security issue. But no—just a bunch of law-abiding helicopters doing helicopter things. And, as if on cue, the Coast Guard chimed in, assuring us there’s no evil mastermind launching drones from a secret lair in the Atlantic:
“The United States Coast Guard is providing support to the state of New Jersey and has confirmed that there is no evidence of any foreign-based involvement from coastal vessels. And importantly, there are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted airspace.”
Well, case closed, right? Not so fast.
While Kirby’s busy waving away concerns like a magician distracting his audience, military bases like Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle are singing a very different tune. Turns out, NJ.com reported 13 confirmed drone incursions—11 at Picatinny alone and 2 at Earle. Military officials are openly acknowledging the problem. Here’s what one spokesperson said:
“We are aware and monitoring the reports of unauthorized drone flights in the vicinity of military installations in New Jersey to include Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earle, and we refer you to those installations for information on any efforts they may be conducting to ensure the safety and security of their personnel and operations.”
They even went on to note that local law enforcement and the FBI are investigating these incidents. So… which is it? Are the skies over New Jersey as uneventful as Kirby claims, or are military bases scrambling to deal with mysterious drone swarms?
Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart called out the inconsistency on X, formerly known as Twitter (or whatever we’re calling it this week):
“This statement from White House National Security Spokesman Adm Kirby is in direct contradiction to a statement issued by the NJ Picatinny Arsenal base commander. Adm. Kirby says there’s been NO reported or confirmed ‘drone’ incursions in restricted airspace. Yet, the base says there’s been 11 confirmed. Why would a White House spokesman recklessly issue such a misleading and false claim?”

Great question, Ross. Maybe Kirby’s next job is in Vegas—his misdirection game is top-notch.
Meanwhile, lawmakers from New York and New Jersey are demanding federal briefings and answers. And who steps up to the plate? None other than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, delivering her trademark no-nonsense takedown. In a video, she laid it out plain and simple:
“I’m going to call it total bullsh-t that no one knows what these are. They can track down a guy that just killed a CEO, but they can’t identify what nightly drones are and where they’re coming from.”

And she didn’t stop there, accusing the government outright:
“They’re lying about not knowing who these drones belong to or where they are coming from.”
Honestly, love her or hate her, you’ve got to admit she’s asking the questions everyone else is too afraid to.
So, what’s the deal here? Are we dealing with a mass delusion, a government cover-up, or some tech billionaire out for a joyride with his fleet of drones? There’s no denying that the skies over New Jersey and now Pennsylvania are crowded, and the American people deserve direct answers—not a cliched response from a White House that lies even when it doesn’t have to.
