On Monday’s “Deadline,” MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson stated that Republicans implement voting laws because many white people “would rather have their own lives inconvenienced than run the risk of black people being on an equal plane.”
He sounds like a half-with-wit gave him an idea and just held onto it. This numbskull is such a babbling race-baiter that he believes election integrity laws, which make it easier for everyone to vote and harder for people to cheat, are laws against black people voting. He falls in line with white liberals who believe black Americans are so stupid and so incompetent that they don’t know how to get an ID so they can vote. This is 2023. It’s difficult to imagine anyone in modern day society who thinks people can live their daily lives without having some form of legitimate ID.
Johnson said, “When Republicans send their random disingenuous gaslighting tweets, I just sit back and say it’s going to be the exact same thing next year.”
Disingenuous gaslighting? So while people cannot say praiseworthy things about MLK without being disingenuous? And the thing is, guys like him know he’s irritating. He is being intentionally annoying. The way he’s speaking about white people, particularly Republicans, makes him sound as ignorant as a white liberal who says if you don’t know why you should vote for him “then you ain’t black.”
He went on. “Unless there is a radical change in how Americans decide to see their government, and that comes from the ground, and that comes from the people in office. Unless people recognize that our current democracy isn’t just under threat because of terrorists, isn’t just under threat because of a former president, but is under threat because you have a significant number of people in the House and Senate who don’t actually believe in a functional multicultural democracy, then we will continue to have these conversations on MLK Day about what we wish was happening, but the people in the position to make the change don’t have the strength and the ideological creativity to make any of those dreams come true.”
Donald Trump came through for black Americans. He went out of his way to make the lives of millions of black Americans better by lowering black unemployment to the lowest levels of recorded history in America. He did real prison reform that affected black families in a positive way. And he didn’t talk down to black people the way the current resident of the White House has and still does.

When you have voter suppression laws in a place like Ohio, you have, and we’ve seen this sociologically, that there’s a certain segment of white people in America who would rather have their own lives inconvenienced than run the risk of black people being on an equal plane. Because frankly, all these voter suppression laws they hurt white people, too. Right? The intention is to keep black people from voting, but it inconveniences everybody. I am very sure that somebody living in Lorain, Ohio, doesn’t like the fact that their ID cards and things don’t work the way they used to as well. So the way you solve this problem is that the party leadership, now, whether that’s Joe Biden or formerly Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer, any of these people, they have to start saying this is not an issue of compromise. The rhetoric has to start there. It has to say voting rights is fundamental. This is not something we can negotiate.”
This is a moron alert. Jason Johnson doesn’t understand that election integrity laws were created because conservatives believe voting is fundamental. After the 2020 debacle, conservatives in red states said never again. They will never again go into elections with the fear that their vote will be changed or undermined by cheating.
Johnson came off as a black liberal who wanted to say something intelligent on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but he isn’t intellectual enough to come up with a positive message on what is supposed to be a celebration day, and so he soiled it with hateful rhetoric that embodies that of a BLM speech on Tik Tok. He should thank his lucky stars that he lives in America,America, where he can get paid to spew his negativity.
