As guidelines for the new school year have been distributed, a troubling trend has emerged with materials claiming that people who are against the teaching of CRT are racists and of course library books that are pornography at best and grooming at worst.
It has come to the attention of state legislators, including State Sens. Steve Erdman, Steve Halloran, and Dave Murman who are calling for an investigation of the state Department of Education.
With the end of the pandemic and with the schools back open again, the promotion of CRT is not what parents are looking for in their schools. Lawmakers are investigating the promotion of CRT for the coming school year. How did this get into the Department of Education in a deep red state shows just how pervasive this thinking has become in this country.
Erdman said:
“Parents, not educators, are responsible for the teaching of children. Public schools should educate children on the facts of history, not indoctrinate them with Critical Race Theory, which deliberately distorts these facts in order to push an erroneous Left-wing, Woke narrative about our nation’s founding, its history, and its heritage.”
“Due to the recent underhanded tactics of the Department of Education to reform Nebraska’s sex-ed curriculum, I believe an investigation into teaching CRT in Nebraska’s public schools is now warranted.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELOne of the documents from the state Education Department that drew much attention is a PDF that explains to educators received talking points on how to push back on critics of CRT.
It was titled “Right Wing Attacks Against Critical Race Theory.” The guide claimed that those opposed to CRT were malign political actors and former Donald Trump staffers.
The PDF reads:
“This effort has been conceived by former Trump strategists, funded by billionaire donors throwing tens of millions of dollars at the misinformation campaign, and managed by some of the same right-wing organizations driving racist voter suppression laws across the country.”
Murman told the Daily Caller:
“In our state, we’ve dealt with left-wing activist bureaucrats promoting comprehensive sex education and critical race theory in our public schools. Any promotion of these reprehensible ideologies by the Nebraska Department of Education must be rooted out.”
It sounds to me like Nebraska needs to drain the Department of Education swamp. Sooner, not later. Any program that pits whites against Blacks must be ended with a bang and not a whisper.
