President Joe Biden delivered a speech Tuesday afternoon urging tighter gun regulation for the American people, just hours after his son Hunter was convicted on gun charges.
Mike Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety sponsored the event where the speech took place.
Biden stated, “In two weeks, we’ll mark the second anniversary of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.”
The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) is the gun control legislation that Republican Sen. John Cornyn helped Democrats draft and enact in 2022.
The president went on to explain how the BSCA has allowed his government to spend millions upon millions of dollars to increase gun control and promote stronger firearm laws. He also announced the creation of the “first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.”
He stated that the agency was established to send a “clear message” about his commitment to combating gun violence.

Biden stated, “It’s time once again to do what I did when I was Senator—ban ‘assault weapons.’ I mean it.”
The problem for the lefties is that what they deem “assault weapons” are perfectly legal firearms. Since automatic weapons have been illegal since the 1930s, the Left came up with the phrase as a result of people being smarter than they were, forcing them to stop using the term. So, they made it their mission to make the term assault weapons sound just as bad.
His statements came three hours after his son, Hunter, was convicted of three weapons counts.
Hunter was convicted of making a false statement during the purchase of a handgun. On June 3, 2024, Breitbart News reported that the penalty for just one infraction is up to $250,000 in fines and/or ten years in prison.
