Tucker Carlson has just confirmed that Megyn Kelly reported that Tucker Carlson has not been fired, he just will no longer have his show. But, don’t expect him to be reinstated or given another show on Fox. Let’s face it, the Fox News that we watched and loved is gone forever. They have joined up with Darth Vader on the dark side. Conservatives no longer have a voice on cable television. The name Donald Trump will no longer appear unless it is a negative story.
But, what does this actually mean? Fox will pay Carlson off but will try to keep him contained. He cannot even do a podcast if that happens. Carlson has a no-compete clause, so the longer they control him, he cannot appear anywhere. If they succeed Tucker will be tied up until December of 2024, after the presidential election. Carlson must try to get them to let him off the hook, which means he won’t receive any money from Fox, but he would stand to lose much more if he cannot be heard from for the next 19 months.
Carlson had the largest audience on cable news and he won’t starve if Fox never gives him another red cent. He has already received three million dollar offers since he was taken off the air, It all comes down to the deal the Tucker and Fox are able to make or the result of any lawsuit Carlson launches against the previous top name of cable news. Fox won’t give up easily. The last thing they want to do is compete with Carlson. Imagine what the stockholders would do if that would happen.They can’t be very happy as it is.
Megyn Kelly, revealed on Thursday:
“I want to, I think, break some news for you. Tucker Carlson hasn’t actually been fired. He’s still an employee of the Fox News Channel. What happened was, Suzanne Scott called him, she’s the CEO, on Monday, morning, and said, um, he was not going to be allowed to do any more shows, and that he had been kicked out of his company email, and now they’re going to have to negotiate an exit. Um, some reporting to me, uh, suggests that she said it’s going to be an amicable parting. Right? Isn’t it?”

If Tucker Carlson was so peremptorily told that he wasn’t going to be allowed to do any more shows and couldn’t even access his company email, he couldn’t say a proper farewell either to those who watched his show or to his staff. This was an odd way for Suzanne Scott and Fox to treat their principal attraction, and it doesn’t seem likely that it would allow for a friendly separation. Of course, stranger things have happened.
And as is so often the case in incidents of the dismissal or rejection of a strong patriotic voice, it gets worse. Kelly continued that all this was “completely catching Tucker off-guard. But Tucker’s not fired. That’s my information.” This doesn’t mean that he is going to land on some new show at Fox or anywhere else on the network. It just means that he might not find it easy to go anywhere else. Kelly explained, “that he still needs to negotiate the exit and that right now he’s not free to launch a podcast or a digital show or negotiate with other employers at all, because he’s still under contract.” So Fox could conceivably muzzle Carlson and prevent him from being able to go anywhere else. The network could simply pay him to do nothing.
Fox has to ask itself, what will their audience do if Fox shuts him out until after the next election? My guess is that it could lead to the total disintegration of the network if the viewers switch to Newsmax and or OAN.
