According to a recent interview with La Nacion, an Argentine media outlet, Pope Francis said in an interview published Friday that “gender ideology” is one of the “most dangerous ideological colonizations” today.
The Pope has recently made headlines for his remarks on LGBTQ matters, most recently stating that homosexuality, while a sin, should not be criminalized. According to a Catholic News Agency translation of Francis’ remarks to La Nacion, “gender ideology” has spawned one of the most “dangerous” ideas in recent history because of the way it blurs the borders between men and women.
This is big. Remember, Pope Francis was a South American Marxist who was placed in obscurity and brought out of that obscurity by Pope Benedict XVI, which is strange because he was an old church dogma guy.
Francis noted that “all humanity is the tension of differences,” and he was concerned that “gender ideology” had virtually eradicated those distinctions between men and women.
According to Francis, it is dangerous, “because it blurs differences and the value of men and women. The question of gender is diluting the differences and making the world the same, all dull, all alike, and that is contrary to the human vocation.”

According to Francis, the book depicted a future in which “differences are disappearing” and everything becomes “uniform.”
Francis also denied allegations that he had been requested to create a document on gender, saying that he “always distinguish[es] between what pastoral care is for people who have a different sexual orientation and what gender ideology is,” according to La Nacion. Those who believe that radical gender ideology is “the path of progress,” according to the Pope, are “naive.”
According to the Catholic News Agency, Francis has already been chastised for remarks he made about transgenderism and the support of same-sex marriage. In 2020, the Pope stated his support for a “civil union law” for same-sex couples, and in January 2022, he urged parents not to “condemn” their children based on their sexual orientation.
He recently chastised the Church for getting involved in political issues, saying that the “Gospel is not an ideology.”
“The Gospel is a proclamation that touches your heart and makes you change your heart, but if you take refuge in an idea, in an ideology, whether right or left or center, you are making the Gospel a political party, an ideology, a club of people,” the Pope stated.
