A group of Proud Boys leaders who were set up by the feds and unjustly sentenced to prison, even though the “1776 Document” used to convict them was written by one FBI agent and planted in the Proud Boys’ chat room by another FBI agent. The FBI also violated the lawyer-client privilege by using confidential information from a previous lawyer of one of the defendants. The FBI claimed that in this case, lawyer lawyer-client privilege was waived.
The lawsuit, filed Friday, names several Justice Department officials and FBI employees as defendants in their case. The Proud Boys seek redress for the multiple violations of their constitutional rights perpetrated by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
