Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Lance Gooden (R-TX) issued a joint letter calling attention to the potential use of federal funds to support the massive use of funds used to provide support to illegal aliens. In many cases, the money is not spent directly on illegal aliens but is instead given to liberal NGOs who then spend it on illegal immigrants. Biden uses this to claim the federal government isn’t spending the money on illegals.
A press release from Gooden states:
“Since President Biden took office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have encountered over five million illegal aliens. This is a direct consequence of the Biden Administration’s policies.”
It goes on to state:
“Nearly two million illegal aliens have been released into the U.S. in accordance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy.”
The press release also talks about the NGOs funded by the federal government that then spends that money on illegal aliens. Biden uses this method to hide the true cost of illegal immigration. Meanwhile, the letter points out that United Way and other NGO’s are “receiving millions of taxpayer dollars to provide free food, lodging, and transportation for illegal aliens across the U.S.”

“Taxpayer-funded non-governmental organizations (NGO) play a disturbing role in the inflow and spread of illegal immigrants throughout the country.”
“Not only do many of these NGOs receive millions in grant funding from the federal government, but they also receive substantial subsidies — all at the expense of the American taxpayer. “He also charged that many nonprofits act as “resettlement agencies to secretly transport and lodge undocumented migrants” by “bussing and flying illegal aliens to a destination of their choice and housing them in hotels.”
It goes on to state, “nearly two million illegal aliens have been released into the U.S. in accordance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy.” The press release also highlights the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) like United Way that receive federal grants and “reportedly use DHS grant funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide aid to illegal aliens.”
Meanwhile, the letter points out that United Way and other NGO’s are “receiving millions of taxpayer dollars to provide free food, lodging, and transportation for illegal aliens across the U.S.”
Gooden asserted that the drastic surge in illegal immigration is “fueled in part by NGOs like those on the EFSP National Board” before urging NGOs involved in immigration to “prioritize transparency and fiscal responsibility.”
Recent reports have found that the Department of Health and Human Services spent approximately $13 billion sponsoring unaccompanied minors left at the southern border with Mexico since 2012.
Various NGOs tasked with caring for unaccompanied minors, including Southwest Key Programs and Baptist Child and Family Services, have received grants from the federal government. Despite the large sum spent on safeguarding children, reports indicate that as many as 85,000 unaccompanied minors have gone missing.
Other reports have found that illegal immigration costs United States taxpayers approximately $151 billion every year.
