It is no secret that the legacy media is in the tank for the Democratic party, but now is the time to do something about it. North Dakota Republican Sen. Kevin Cramer demanded in a Thursday letter that the lamestream press that tries to pass itself off as news organizations explain their bias and anser for the propaganda that they spread. He sent the letter to Fox News, NBCUniversal, Disney and CBS.
This current election is exactly the type of proof we need to go after the broadcast licenses of the lying media. Trump won all seven swing states, the electoral college landslide and the popular vote by five million votes. Obviously Trump was the best candidate by far and Kamala Harris was a recipient of a participation trophy. But Harris got a 78% positive story from the jackals in the press while stories about Trump were 85% negative. I can’t wait to hear what these faux news agencies have to say about this.
Solving this problem would actually be quite simple. Kamala’s positive and undeserved positive rating were of value to her campaign and could rightly be called a PIK. (Payment in Kind) The negative stories about Trump would be a PIK also. Over the course of a campaign these numbers could be staggering. Impose a strict limit on PIKs and make the penalty criminal instead of civil. CEOs and news chiefs would face prosecution and prison time for going over the limit. And their organizations should lose their broadcast licenses. You would see this behavior disappear immediately.
Cramer’s letter demands that networks explain how they plan to address partisanship at their companies and if they plan to hire people with intent to balance their reporting. I have a feeling they won’t answer or else they will deliver meaningless word salads.
“Unfortunately, the concerns expressed in my 2016 letter have not only gone unaddressed but have worsened,” Cramer added. “Public confidence in your national news operations and programming has plummeted to unprecedented levels. Last month, a Gallup survey revealed the public’s trust in mass media has hit an all-time low, with only 31% of Americans expressing confidence in media integrity, and a mere 12% of Republicans maintaining any trust in the fairness of national news coverage.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELAmericans’ trust in the mass media was at a record low ahead of the election, according to a Gallup survey published Oct. 14. Around 36% of those surveyed said that they have “no trust at all” in the mass media, while only 31% expressed a “great deal” or “fair amount” of confidence and 33% expressed “not very much” confidence, according to the survey.
Media coverage of the 2024 presidential election by national broadcast networks was the “most lopsided in history,” according to an Oct. 28 report published by Media Research Center’s NewsBusters. Cramer cited the report in his letter, mentioning how in July, several major networks including ABC, CBS and NBC gave Vice President Kamala Harris 78% positive coverage, compared to Trump’s 85% negative coverage.
“The editorial slant of your national news programming not only betrays the trust of Americans, but also undermines the exceptional work of local affiliates,” Cramer wrote. “These affiliates, especially those serving rural communities, work tirelessly to provide fair and valuable reporting, but their credibility is eroded by association with biased national coverage.”
The networks didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
