SHOCKER….Not: Kamala Polls Worse Than Biden Behind 8 Points Nationally

For those Democrats who thought Kamala Harris would have a better chance of beating Trump than Biden, the new polls are anything but good news. According to the  Manhattan Institute poll of 2,100 likely voters President Trump outpolls Resident Kamala Harris by a count of 44 to 36 with RFK garnering 6% of the vote. A separate poll by Interactive Polls, Trump leads Harris by 5 points 51 to 46. To make matters worse for Democrats these polls were taken before the assassination attempt on Trump’s life.

The good news for Harris is that she will increase the number of Black women who will vote for her. The bad news is that it will decrease the3 number of Black men who will vote for her and here’s why. Black men who were e34ligible for parole were used to fight forest fires, so Harris tried to keep against their will to work at dangerous jobs. Sounds a lot like slavery doesn’t it? They did get pain. A whole @2 dollars a day.

In 2011, the Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Plata that California’s prisons were so overcrowded that they violated the Constitution’s prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment. Three years later, in early 2014, the state was ordered to allow non-violent, second time offenders who have served half of their sentence to be eligible for parole.

By September 2014, plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit were back in court, accusing California of slow-walking the process, which lawyers for Harris’ office denied.

“Extending 2-for-1 credits to all minimum custody inmates at this time would severely impact fire camp participation—a dangerous outcome while California is in the middle of a difficult fire season and severe drought,” lawyers for Harris wrote in the filing, noting that the fire camp program required physical fitness in addition to a level of clearance that allowed the felon to be offsite.

Not only that, they noted, draining the prisons of “minimum custody inmates” would deplete the labor force both internally and in local communities where low-level, non-violent offenders worked for pennies on the dollar collecting trash and tending to city parks. A federal three-judge panel ordered both sides to confer about the plaintiffs’ demands, and the state agreed to extend the 2-for-1 credits to all eligible minimum security prisoners.

Politico reported Sunday that Biden decided to drop out after aides briefed him on polling showing he had no way to win (excerpt):

Early Saturday, Biden told senior aides it was “full steam ahead” for the campaign. But by later that evening, he had changed his mind following a long discussion with his two closest aides.

Steve Ricchetti, who’s been with Biden since his days in the Senate, drove to see the president at his house on the Delaware shore on Friday. Mike Donilon arrived on Saturday. The two men, both of whom had been by Biden’s side during key decisions about whether to seek the presidency in 2016 and 2020, sat at a distance from the president, still testing positive for Covid, and presented damning new information in a meeting that would hasten the end of Biden’s political career.

In addition to presenting new concerns from lawmakers and updates on a fundraising operation that had slowed considerably, they carried the campaign’s own polls, which came back this week and showed his path to victory in November was gone, according to five people familiar with the matter, who, like others interviewed for this article, were granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. Biden asked several questions during the exchange.
