Ever stop to think how far we’ve slid? Under Joe Biden’s administration, the Democratic Party attempted to usher in a full-blown authoritarian censorship regime—weaponizing the term “disinformation” and deploying every tool of the federal government to crush dissent, silence opposition, and label any inconvenient fact as a dangerous threat. I’d like to point out that silencing the political opposition is one of the key fundamental actions of a fascist regime.
No, this wasn’t some sci-fi fantasy—it played out in real time on U.S. soil against American citizens. Thanks to the Twitter files dumps and other internal documents, we saw back-channel censorship requests, proxy schemes, and a coordinated effort between Big Tech platforms and federal agencies to monitor and suppress speech. Again, the government getting private corporations to do their dirty work for them because the law says that the government can’t get involved is another one of the key fundamental actions of a fascist regime.
Now we have a viral White House clip of Senator Marco Rubio dropping the bombshell: the State Department actually set up an office to monitor Americans’ social-media posts and brand them as purveyors of disinformation. Senator J.D. Vance nailed the absurdity when he quipped, “Was it me or Elon Musk?”—because who else’s tweets are they tracking?

And let’s talk about that official government memo outlining a full-scale “digital literacy” campaign—supposedly to fight online disinformation and domestic-terrorism recruitment. In practice, U.S. taxpayer dollars were funneled through shadowy NGOs, the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, and even the Department of Education to roll out “evidence-based digital literacy programming.” Spoiler alert: it looked more like a coordinated censorship playbook than any kind of neutral education.

The high point of this circus was the Disinformation Governance Board—mockingly branded Biden’s “Ministry of Truth” from 1984. It was fronted by TikTok influencer Nina Jankovix, who’d already dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation. Public outrage shut it down fast, but the fact that it ever saw the light of day shows just how comfy this crew was with policing opinions.
It’s not exactly new terrain. From Barack Obama’s 2020 warnings about conservative “misinformation” to Joe Biden’s branding of Trump supporters as a national security threat, Democrats have wielded the “disinformation” label as a cudgel to delegitimize dissent and justify federal overreach.
It wasn’t until Elon Musk bought Twitter that most Americans saw the full scope of the scheme. The Twitter files revealed government-requested takedowns and censorship mandates, with State Department operatives keeping tabs on senators, business leaders, and everyday citizens—an information-war campaign straight from the Soviet playbook.
We can’t let this blatant First Amendment hijacking slide—every nook and cranny of this overreach demands a start-to-finish audit. Congress must lock down the law so no administration ever again turns federal agencies into political bludgeons against its own citizens. What Democrats toyed with wasn’t a harmless experiment in governance—it was a full-blown assault on our most sacred liberty: freedom of speech.
If you have liberal Democrat friends who claim that President Donald Trump is a fascist, send them the link to this story. You might have to explain to them what the Biden regime, fully backed by the Democratic Party, did because they are a little slow on the uptake.
