Last week House Democrats proposed their Bill to “establish the National Commission to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol Complex.” We are being told that the commission is necessary to find out who rioted at the Capitol building on January 6 to make sure it never happens again.
And it’s all a lie. The Democrats are using the pretense of finding out what happened on January 6 in order to safeguard the Capitol to be able to abuse their investigatory authority to do nothing more than achieving their political goals. They are giving the commission powers that are wide and frightening, with the ability to subpoena records from conservative groups and websites, including their investors. They are seeking donor lists and they want to invade the privacy of personal communications from people who had little to nothing to do with the events that took place on January 6.
The Democrats are corrupt politicians who are lying to the American people about the purpose of the Commission.
What happened on January 6 shocked everyone including conservatives. But let’s put some perspective on it. Many but not all who were there that day to protest what they believed was the stealing of the 2020 election rioted out of sheer frustration after four years of being ridiculed daily by Democrats and leftist media for supporting President Donald Trump. They watched how the president had been treated for four years by the very people who were attempting to steal their 2020 victory away from them. And then to be told to shut up and accept what they did was too much to bear.
In retrospect, the entire incident lasted about two-and-a-half hours but the Democrat bill for the National Commission on January 6 elevates the riot to a “domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol.” Once again, the Democrats and their allies in the press are gaslighting America, and this time by calling what happened on January 6 a terrorist attack.
In other words, the Democrats are telling us that the riot that took place at the Capitol was pre-planned and plotted out to overthrow the American system to government and yet not a single person arrested to date brought a gun or any weapon to a terrorist attack and no evidence has been reported of any of them being involved in organizations known to plot out terrorist attacks on the United States. The Democrats have tried to persuade the American people into believing the riot was a bunch of white nationalists who wanted to take over the country. The entire idea is nothing short of a joke, and yet it’s very real because the Democrats are using the terrorist argument for a Commission to push for something other than what they claim it’s for. More on that in a bit.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe bill creates a Commission of 10 members, five members will be appointed by Democrats and five appointed by Republicans. The commission will be chaired by a Democrat nominee. The bill came from a deal made with Republican Representative John Katko of New York. To show you how partisan the whole thing already is, Katko is one of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump.
The Commission will have powers to “Issue subpoenas requiring the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of evidence relating to any matter which the Commission is empowered to investigate.”
That’s an extremely broad statement, “which the Commission is empowered to investigate.” That statement is where all the problems with the commission will lie because it includes the following:
“The facts and causes relating to the January 6, 2021 domestic terrorist attack upon the United States Capitol Complex.”
“The influencing factors that fomented such attack on American representative democracy while engaging in a constitutional process.”
With powers like that, the entire farce will be left up to the Democrat’s imagination. They can subpoena anyone, including people who weren’t within a thousand miles of Washington, DC on January 6. If you are an Internet influencer and you posted that you supported President Trump’s rally that took place that day, you could be hauled in to testify.
If you donated money to Republican members of Congress who supported the rally, you could be subpoenaed as well.
And everyone who is subpoenaed must hire lawyers if they want to have any semblance of fairness during their testimony.
It stands to reason that with the Republicans that will be chosen to be on the Commission at least one of them will vote with the Democrats so that they will have a majority on anything they want to do. Thirty-five House Republicans voted for the bill to establish the Commission probably because they haven’t a clue as to what the Democrats are up to.
We reported yesterday that House GOP minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) rejected the Commission on the grounds that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi acted in bad faith by lying to the media telling them she had already sent out a counterproposal to McCarthy but she didn’t send it until a few weeks later. McCarthy also said he was against the Commission because of the way Pelosi and the Democrats were setting it up. They wanted to start with the premise that the riot was a terrorist act and that everyone there was guilty.
To make matters worse, the Commission will have the authority to obtain information from “the intelligence community,” the same group that attacked Donald Trump by abusing the FISA system and the unmasking process not to mention a bunch of other such abuses, and we have no reason to believe they will use whatever information they will obtain for the Commission responsibly. Our intelligence community has become extremely political as of late, so much so that it now resembles what goes on in third world countries where the intelligence apparatus uses their powers against their own people.
Here’s what the Democrats are really up to. During the 2020 election, the Democrats used the social media tech tyrants to censor and silence any opposition voice from Republicans and conservatives. They silenced any opposing viewpoints, and they did a pretty good job. They gaslighted the country to believe Joe Biden was the messiah who would save us from the evil racist bully Donald Trump. The mainstream news media also exclusively supported Democrats.
After the banning of prominent influencers on social media, including the former president, conservatives now have their own social media platforms where the tech tyrants can’t attack them. They once again have free speech and people can and want to hear their viewpoints. The Democrats cannot have that, because they are still in the phase where they are converting our country to a totalitarian socialist utopia and they must silence opposing views because they have the 2022 midterm elections to manipulate.
The January 6 Commission is not about finding out what happened at the Capitol building on January 6. It’s about winning the 2022 midterm elections. It is vital for them to remain in total power so that they can push through their agenda. The Democrats are going to use the Commission to attack Republicans and conservative influencers and donors. During 2020 they used COVID to bankrupt small businesses, the backbone of Republican donations. They attacked the NRA, the most effective election campaigners for Republicans by a long shot. They are now going to use the powers of the Commission to take out Republican influencers and the donor class.
This Commission is nothing more than the Democratic Party’s 2022 re-election campaign. If they tell you differently, they are lying.
