On The View, host Sunny Hostin lied about President Trump. That’s not unusual; lying is in her DNA. Added to her Trump Derangement Syndrome, it makes for an extreme lack of honesty. But on that day, another host called her out on her lies, and that is unusual. Hostin claimed that President Trump lied about no taxes on tips and overtime, even though it is in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
The View hosts were discussing the Democrats lying about Democrats, and how they lied about his condition, and how it will affect the party in future elections. So, Hostin had to make the conversation about Trump. It was at this point that Hostin flagrantly lied about no taxes on tips and overtime.
Hostin said:
“Trump lied to people. I think he lied to his base. I think he told his base that their overtime would not be taxed; that was a lie.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin corrected her:
“Actually, that’s in the new tax bill. It’s literally in the tax bill in Congress.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThen Hostin made the absurd claim that they had to fight to include it. Well, Democrats opposed it, so there would be a fight of some sort, but the fact remains that it is in the bill.
Griffin pushed back again:
“That’s not true. [Trump] ran on no tax on tips, and it’s in the tax bill.”
I blame this on The View not having DEI rules that would have demanded diversity. At least one of the ultra liberal hosts should have a brain.
Hostin:
“Yeah, but it wasn’t in it originally.”
Griffin:
“[The bill is] being drafted right now.”
Hostin argued that Trump won the 2024 election because he “lied” to the American people, not because of the Democrats or Biden’s waning health. Public polling repeatedly found that voters trusted Trump over former President Kamala Harris on the economy and immigration, the two top-ranked issues ahead of the election, which caused him to make historic inroads with blue collar voters, black and Latino men.
The Republicans’ tax bill, which is set to enact Trump’s economic agenda, is set to give a $3.8 trillion tax cut and to implement a new policy to not tax tips or overtime. The legislation also intends to make changes to Medicaid in order to reduce the cost of the program for the poor and disabled and raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.
Trump first announced his plan to eliminate taxes on tips during a June 9 rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. Weeks later, Harris made the same policy proposal at a Las Vegas rally in August, prompting Trump to accuse her of copying him.
