At a ceremony held at the White House on Thursday, President Trump made a historic announcement that sent waves through both supporters and haters alike.
“Today we take a very historic action that was 45 years in the making,” said the president. “In a few moments, I will sign an executive order to begin eliminating the federal Department of Education once and for all.”

The audience, clearly enthusiastic about this decisive move, broke into loud applause.
And why not? Ever since that Democratic Party prank known as President Jimmy Carter elevated education to a cabinet-level department—a move many saw as more of a political gesture than a practical solution—our educational standards have declined dramatically. This experiment turned American education into an international punchline. Fast forward to 2025, and the United States isn’t leading the world in education. We’re not even close to second or third. Shockingly, we’ve slid down to #31 in global education rankings!
Trump continued to explain the reasoning behind his decision, highlighting a striking paradox in our education spending. “After 45 years, the United States spends more money on education by far than any other country and spends likewise, by far, more money per pupil, and it’s not even close. But yet, we rank near the bottom of the list in terms of success,” he added. “Closing the Department of Education would provide children and their families the opportunity to escape a system that is failing them.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELPredictably, Democrats have lost their ever-hating minds and pushed back hard against this decision, arguing the president lacks the authority to eliminate a federal department created by Congress. A coalition of attorneys general from 20 states has already stepped up, filing a lawsuit to halt Trump’s move. They claim, “The dismantling of the Department will also result in the termination of afterschool programs,” adding that, “Regardless of what alternative resources are put in the place of the Department of Education, the process of the Department’s dismantling will create and has created chaos, disruption, uncertainty, delays and confusion for Plaintiff States and their residents.”

It’s funny how professional signs are always at the forefront of supposed “grassroots” street protests.
But let’s be honest: what they’re truly worried about is losing the steady flow of teacher union cash that pours into their campaigns—money they earn by crafting laws, policies, and procedures tailor-made to keep the unions happy.
Supporters of President Trump, however, stand firm. They argue that the Department of Education has clearly failed its mission to uplift American students, citing decades of national testing results showing declining educational outcomes.
Adding a touch of charm to the ceremony, Trump sat among school desks flanked by children and, with characteristic confidence, turned to two students and playfully asked them, “Should I do it?”
Their enthusiastic nods said it all.
