Former President Donald Trump issued a brief statement after being found guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying corporate records.
Remember, these were misdemeanors that the Bragg prosecutors somehow magically got turned into felonies. And the statute of limitations ran out over 6 years ago. But this is New York and none of that matters.
Trump maintained his innocence and insisted that the trial was rigged from the beginning.
“This was a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people. And they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here. You have a Soros-backed DA, and the whole thing, we didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man,” Trump declared.
“It’s okay. I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden administration in order to move or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. And I think it’s just a disgrace. And we’ll keep fighting; we’ll fight to the end, and we’ll win. Because our country has gone to hell. We don’t have the same country any more. We have a divided mess,” he added.
“I believe that the case will be reversed eventually, either in the state or federal systems.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe result was decided after only the second day of deliberations.
The prosecution accused Trump of misrepresenting payments to his then-personal attorney, Michael Cohen, as legal expenses in order to conceal a $130,000 settlement payment made by Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair with the former president. But that is not a crime, and it is a legal expense. Apparently, Cohen paid the porn star the money as a legal service to his boss. So, in the end, the Trump Organization paid a lawyer for legal services rendered, and that’s called a legal expense. But not in a rigged courtroom.
Trump pleaded not guilty on all counts and rejected Daniels’ allegations.
Legal Scholar Jonathan Turley posted on X his dismay at the verdict.
“I obviously disagree with this verdict, as do many others. I believe that the case will be reversed eventually, either in the state or federal systems. However, this was the worst expectation for a trial in Manhattan. I am saddened by the result more for the New York legal system than the former president. I had hoped that the jurors might redeem the integrity of a system that has been used for political purposes.” legal scholar Jonathan Turley wrote on X.

Judge Juan Merchan should have recused himself, but he refused to do so. A New York law says that if the judge has a relative six ways of separation, making money on a case the judge is presiding over, he must recuse himself. Merchan’s daughter has made millions on the Trump case, with Joe Biden as one of her high-profile clients.
This isn’t even a real judge. He is an acting judge. They got him to handle every Trump case in New York.
Judge Merchan ruled repeatedly for the prosecution and against the defense on material issues. He wouldn’t allow certain witnesses to be called, like a federal elections official who wanted to testify that Trump broke no federal election laws. Yet the judge allowed a porn star to testify with no material information whatsoever.
Trump responded to the verdict:

The state prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, used a federal law that impacted a federal election to interfere in the federal election. A state prosecutor cannot use a federal law, so how was that possible? Because the fix was in.
The judge should have agreed to move the venue, but he denied the request, knowing Trump could never get a fair trial where the trial was held.
In essence, the judge allowed the jury to convict Trump of any one of three crimes provided to them without unanimity. The judge allowed the jury to convict Trump on not committing a crime. In other words, the court told the jury they did not have to prove the underlying crime was committed, but allowed the jury to convict Trump of intending to conceal an act that was not a crime.
America took a giant hit today, and the saddest news of all is half the country is jumping for joy.
This was a first-offense, non-violent crime, so anyone else would probably get probation. But I think Merchan will give Trump prison time because that’s what Joe Biden wants.
