Former President Donald Trump scored another win in court recently after Judge Juan Merchan decided to push back his sentencing until after the election. The goal? To avoid any appearance of political meddling.
Yeah, right. Does anyone believe that? I think he read the tea leaves, and now that his TDS is leveling out, he realized that he could be in heap big doo doo trouble considering how he ran that trial. Merchan violated Trump’s rights repeatedly. He rigged the trial so that the only conclusion would be he was guilty. He allowed the DA, Alvin Bragg, to convert state documents misdemeanors where the statute of limitations ran out years prior into federal election law felonies, which cannot be done. A state prosecutor is not allowed to work in the federal system. And then, to add insult to injury, Merchan denied the defense legal team the right to call a federal election commission executive as a witness to testify that Trump broke no federal election laws. And now, we are supposed to believe this judge is concerned about the appearance of election interference? Puhleassssssse.
Critics had been hoping that Trump would face sentencing before the election, using it as a way to weaken his supporters. But Merchan wasn’t having it. In a four-page decision, he agreed to a request from Trump’s legal team last Friday.
“Adjourning decision on the motion and sentencing, if such is required, should dispel any suggestion that the Court will have issued any decision or imposed sentence either to give an advantage to, or to create a disadvantage for, any political party and/or any candidate for any office,” Merchan wrote.
For a quick recap, Trump was convicted of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. The sentencing in this case has been delayed for quite some time, as Trump’s lawyers have argued that a Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity should lead to the charges being thrown out. Merchan has recently said he is considering throwing out the convictions over a Supreme Court decision. Yeah, when donkeys fly. Merchan was hand-picked by the Biden Justice Department because they knew he would deliver the best election interference case possible.
“There should be no sentencing in the Manhattan DA’s election interference witch hunt,” said Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign. “As mandated by the United States Supreme Court, this case, along with all the other Harris-Biden hoaxes, should be dismissed.”

“The members of this jury served diligently on this case, and their verdict must be respected and addressed in a manner that is not diluted by the enormity of the upcoming presidential election,” he said. “Likewise, if one is necessary, the Defendant has the right to a sentencing hearing that respects and protects his constitutional rights.”
I think this is a sign that Merchan is asking for a lifeline to save him from punishment over his unAmerican and anti-due process actions taken during the trial.
