An Accounting professor at UCLA announced he has filed a lawsuit against the University after the school placed him on leave and threatened to fire him for allegedly not grading black students more leniently than other students.
Yes, that’s how low university life has sunk.
“Recently, I was suspended from my job for refusing to treat my black students as lesser than their non-black peers,” Professor Gordon Klein wrote in an op-ed titled, “Why I Am Suing UCLA.”
Klein said that the whole thing started on June 2, 2020, just eight days after George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis. A white student emailed Klein asking for a “no harm” final for black students, meaning low grades would not be counted, in response to “unjust murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd.”
So a student believes that the political fallout of the death of three black Americans should cause black students, who were not affected by the deaths, to get better grades? Is it not the height of racism to believe that black students are so inferior that they need help to achieve passing grades because of the political notoriety of the deaths of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery?
The professor characterized the proposal as “deeply patronizing and offensive” to black students and said the email left him “shocked.”

My professor explained that following the school directive would rob his black students of a lifetime of education that they were paying for. Unlike the administrators at the university, the professor believed that instead of caving to the political whims of ignorant race hustlers, if students have a problem cutting it, instead of making life easier for them which would be the easy way out of a perceived problem, you challenge them in more creative ways. Race hustlers never want to do the work. They simply want a quick fix so they can go hustle over to the next event.
Klein replied to the not named student, saying, “Are there any students that may be of mixed parentages, such as half black half-Asian?”
“What do you suggest I do with respect to them? A full concession or just half? Also, do you have any idea if any students are from Minneapolis? I assume that they are probably especially devastated as well. I am thinking that a white student from there might possibly be even more devastated by this, especially because some might think that they’re racist even if they are not,” he conveyed in the op-ed, adding that he also included a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.
But, of course, it is 2021, and so his reply was hammered by his ignorant race-hustling leftist students as racist, and a petition pushing for his termination circulated that picked up about 20,000 signatures over two days, he reported.
Twenty thousand students believe that by Professor Klein treating black students the same as every other student, he committed a racist act. Our campus culture has gone beyond coming around full circle. Back in the day when the Democrats had laws that discriminated against black Americans, our Civil Rights warriors fought a noble fight to get black people treated equally to how everyone else in American society would be treated. And now, we have a movement to discriminate in favor of black students over all others.
An investigation was started by the Dean of UCLA’s business school and Klein was immediately placed on leave. The professor said the dean came close to firing him.
Klein revealed that after almost three weeks of suspension he was reinstated to his job, and said, “But this story is not over.”
“You see, most of my income comes not from teaching at UCLA but from consulting to law firms and other corporations. Several of those firms dropped me after they got wind that I’d been suspended — the better to put distance between themselves and a ‘racist.’ That cost me the lion’s share of my annual income. The students involved in this escapade may have moved on to other causes. I have not. I’m not sure I ever will,” he resolved, saying he filed a lawsuit against the University of California system.
“No employee should ever cower in fear of his employer’s power to silence legitimate points of view, and no society should tolerate government-sponsored autocrats violating constitutional mandates,” he added, begging the question, how many of you wish this guy worked for Twitter?
