A HISTORY LESSON ON WHY THE 2ND AMENDMENT CANNOT BE INFRINGED

I don’t want to be remembered as a violator of Godwin’s Law by invoking the Nazis, but there is a real lesson to be learned here from history with regard to people being able to use their God given right to protect themselves.

Also, I want to assure you, the reader, that I am not a conspiracy nut who throws wild accusations into the Internetsphere for sensationalism and clicks. What I say is what I believe and what I believe is based on decades of reading and learning from all sides of an argument.

With that said…

In the 1920s, during the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic, the government came up with an idea that a gun registry would make people safer. The argument was that if the police knew who the gun owners were, they would be able to solve gun crimes much easier. They also espoused that it would act as a deterrent, because citizens would know that the government knew who owned the guns and therefore it would keep the civil society civil.

So, the people were convinced to allow the government to do a national gun registration.

Law-abiding people obeyed the law, while the Communists and the Nazis (both political leftists), committing acts of political violence, did not. In other words, the law-abiding people followed the law, and the criminals did not, something that still happens in every society today. Why can’t American liberals, who wish to foist even more gun control laws on us, understand this very simple concept?

History Alert! It is crucial to understand the rest of the story to bring perspective to today’s gun control debate.

In 1931 the Weimar government learned of plans of a Nazi party forcing citizens to surrender their guns to the government within 24 hours and that Jews would be denied food. Those who refused were to be executed.

The plans were written by future Nazi party leader and Gestapo Chief Werner Best.

In reaction to any possible threats, the government authorized the confiscation of all firearms in the name of “public safety.” The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group. HA!

Fast forward to 1933 when a group of extremists, led by Adolf Hitler, seized power and used that gun registry to identify, disarm, and attack political opponents and, of course, Jews. The German Constitution was then suspended and nationwide searches for and seizures of guns began. The government also pursued publications that were in opposition to the Nazis. Police revoked gun licenses of people who were not deemed “politically reliable.”

For the next five years the National Socialist regime (the Nazis) cleansed society by placing “undesirables” into camps where they claimed labor made them “free”. Citizen rights of Jews were thrown out the window.

The Gestapo ran around arresting leaders of gun clubs. At this point Gestapo counsel Werner Best issued a directive to the police, forbidding issuance of firearm permits to Jews.

Next came the Gun Control Act in 1938 signed by Hitler that loosened some of the restrictions on firearms, now that the “enemies of the state” had been removed from society. Nazi party members had barely any restrictions imposed on them. Not only were Jews prohibited from owning firearms, but they were banned from even working in the firearms industry.

The next move was to render the Jewish community defenseless so that the Germans could take their ill-gotten property and redistribute it as an entitlement to the German Volk. German Jews were ordered to turn in all weapons. The police already had records on all who had registered them (the law-abiding folk) and any Jew who disobeyed was executed.

This all took place just a few weeks before Kristallnacht (the Night of the Broken Glass) where Germans smashed the windows of all Jewish merchant shops as a message for Jews to leave the country because the German people hated them.

The fact that the Jews were rendered defenseless by being disarmed prior to this action is proof itself that the action was pre-planned by the Nazis, and tensions were so high in the country at that point that a simple incident was all that was needed to justify an all out attack on them.

That incident would be the shooting of a German diplomat in Paris by a teenage Polish Jew. Hitler used that shooting as an opportunity to direct his propaganda minister, Josef Goebbels, to organize the Night of the Broken Glass. The operation, reportedly carried out as a government search for weapons, involved a raid of Jewish homes and businesses, and synagogues set ablaze.

In those days, prior to the fake news phenomena we experience today, the U.S. media covered all of these events, which is why just days before the Japanese Pearl Harbor attack, Congress reaffirmed Second Amendment rights and prohibited gun registration.

The reason for this rendering of history is to point out that even under good intentions, a society can ask for policies they believe will bring safety but can lead to a totalitarian state. The government of the Weimar Republic didn’t set out to help a future left-wing fascist regime take away everyone’s right to defend themselves, but evil people will exploit the good deeds of the naïve.

This is why in the United States today Second Amendment advocates are leery of gun control laws, especially when left-wing ideologues like the socialist Bernie Sanders and the mental patient Nancy Pelosi and other Progressives call for them. Second Amendment advocates know that gun control laws only affect law-abiding gun owners, because criminals, by their very nature, do not obey laws. I mean, that’s what makes them criminals.

The exploitation of the students who survived the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting on February 14, advocating more gun control measures nationwide for schools, is as transparent as it gets, when radical left-wing news networks like CNN tried to force scripted questions on students during a town hall in Florida held for gun control.

If you don’t believe that such a thing can happen here, and that kind of tyranny is only found in the ash heap of history, then you should take a look at what has happened in recent modern history to the once rich and vibrant country of Venezuela that elected the socialists to power who eventually convinced them to ban guns for safety, which turned the country into one of the most violent, crime-ridden sh*t holes in the world.
You wanna talk about the need of a resistance movement? More than ever now, we need to understand that the political forces who are exploiting school mass shootings for gun control legislation aren’t advocating policies that will end crime and mass shootings. If they were they would at least listen to arguments for getting rid of gun-free zones which turn the most vulnerable of our society – our children – into sitting ducks for madmen who want to shoot as many people as possible in a place where they know no one will be around to shoot back. They reject the idea outright, and demand more gun control laws that will punish over 320 million Americans who never shot anyone, and will end will end up doing nothing to stop mass shootings at schools. That is the Progressive way.

Over the course of the last year, we have seen evidence of an attempted government coup trying to reverse the 2016 presidential election. Every day we are brought more and more evidence of FBI and DOJ officials breaking laws that they swore to uphold and defend. Don’t think for a minute that our government can’t devolve into a tyranny of evil when the only thing that stands between them and despotism is an armed citizenry. Too many times throughout history societies went south when the people were disarmed.

Criminals will never stop committing crimes, and giving up your right to protect yourself, even in times when you don’t believe you are under a threat, will someday lead to your wishing you had your right to protect yourself back, and the one thing we know from history is once a people lose a right to government they never get it back.

Americans have over 200 years of self-protection in their DNA. Guns have been a part of our identity since the Founding. You are not going to convince the American people that their identity must be shaken to the core by government fiat because of a criminal madman who shot up a school, especially when Americans understand the lunacy of gun-free school zones. To change gun laws, you have to change the minds of Americans, and the American Left does not seem interested in doing that. Like everything else, the American Left wants what it wants and they want it now, The Constitution and the rule of law be damned.
