So, here’s something you won’t hear shouted on the legacy news networks.
Who are the people winning in the current job market? American workers. You know, the folks who were born here. And the numbers aren’t just trending that way—they’re slamming the point home.
The latest government data shows something that’s both obvious and somehow controversial these days. Under President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, American-born workers have surged ahead. The Labor Department’s June jobs report says it flat-out. The number of foreign-born workers dropped by 348,000 between May and June. And since January? That drop balloons to more than 543,000.
Meanwhile, native-born Americans? They added 830,000 jobs from May to June. And get this. Since Trump took office in January, over 2 million more jobs have gone to American-born workers.
Guys, that’s a major shift. Especially if you look at what happened last year, during the Biden administration. In that same May-to-June stretch, foreign-born workers gained 1.025 million jobs, while native-born workers gained just a little more—1.099 million.
Now the Trump White House is understandably taking a victory lap. They didn’t whisper it. They said it loud and clear in a statement after the new report came out.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL“For the fourth month in a row, jobs numbers have beaten market expectations with nearly 150,000 good jobs created in June,” said White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
And she didn’t stop there.
“American-born workers have accounted for ALL of the job gains since President Trump took office, and wages continue to rise,” she added. According to Leavitt, the “economy is booming again,” and there’s more to come with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Now let’s talk about what’s actually happening in the labor market. The Trump administration isn’t just talking tough on illegal immigration. They’re backing it up with action. Deportations have surged. Workplace raids are back. And as a result, foreign-born workers—especially those here illegally—are skipping work in droves.
Bloomberg News recently ran a story about the impact of all this. According to their report, unauthorized immigrants make up about 5% of the labor force. And they tend to cluster in jobs that are already hard to fill, like food processing and construction. Thanks to the fear of immigration enforcement, absenteeism in those industries is now a real problem. Some farms and companies are reportedly struggling to find enough workers to fill the gap.
But here’s where the data gets a little fuzzy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, the agency behind the monthly jobs report, doesn’t actually ask workers about their immigration status. So when the BLS says foreign-born workers, that includes everyone from green card holders to folks who overstayed their visas to people who came here legally and got naturalized.
The BLS does break down workers into two groups—foreign-born and native-born—but it stops there. It doesn’t dig into whether those foreign-born workers are here legally or not. So yeah, some of the job losses in the foreign-born category could include people who are fully authorized to work in this country.
Still, the pattern is clear. Since the second Trump administration began, the labor market has tilted heavily toward American citizens. Fewer illegal immigrants in the workforce means more jobs are staying here. It’s almost like enforcing immigration laws… works.
Funny how that happens.
Never forget that all of this hard work to restore fairness for American workers became necessary only because of the Biden administration’s lawless disregard for our laws and its preference for illegal immigrants, whom they clearly viewed as ‘unregistered Democrats’, over the citizens they were elected to serve.
