Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) claimed that President Joe Biden‘s $100 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and domestic security was dead on arrival in the Senate.
Cotton is correct in calling it a slush fund. Ukraine would receive the greatest sum. The aid plan comprises $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, and $14 billion for the border. There is $7.4 billion for Taiwan and its Indo-Pacific allies and $10 billion for humanitarian help in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza. Why does Ukraine get more money than anyone else?
The senator specifically mentioned the $11.8 billion for Ukraine, which is included for “non-war spending” such as providing retirement pensions for Ukraine government employees. A huge number of Republicans are not interested in such a request. In general, American taxpayers favor help going to Ukraine to fight its war against Putin’s invasion, but not to fund the entire government’s activities. Pension funding is not the same as sending military help and financial support to Ukraine to keep its defense against Putin strong.
But then again, Ukraine allegedly has a thick blackmail file on Joe Biden.
Cotton’s other issues with the aid package include addressing the “potential needs” of Gazans and spending billions of dollars on “services” for illegal immigrants. Where does he think Hamas will spend that money? And why do we have to give services to people who are here illegally? What the hell is wrong with Biden?
“President Biden’s slush fund proposal is dead on arrival, just like his budgets,” Cotton said in a statement Friday. “We will not spend, for example, $3.5 billion to address the ‘potential needs of Gazans,’ essentially functioning as a resupply line for Hamas terrorists.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL“Nor will we spend $4.7 billion for housing, transportation, and ‘services’ for illegal aliens in the United States rather than deporting them,” he was quoted as saying. “The Biden proposal is going nowhere, and Senate Republicans will take the lead on crafting a funding bill that protects Americans and their interests.”
It’s not a surprise that Ukraine receives the majority of the funds. According to reports, Biden’s motivation for requesting this aid package at this time is to continue providing billions of dollars to Ukraine. Perhaps more people might be open to it if there was transparency in how the money was spent. Ukraine is a famously corrupt country, and Americans demand responsibility. Providing relief for fundamental humanitarian needs is one thing; funding retirement is quite another.
Money sent to Gaza will almost certainly land up in Hamas’ bank accounts. The terrorist group is the elected government. Hamas doesn’t care if Gazans go hungry or go without water, medicine, or electricity. The EU donated water pipes to Gaza so that they could get clean water and not have to rely on Israel. But Hamas dug up the pipes and used them to launch rockets into Israel, the same country that was giving the Palestinians in Gaza free water and electricity.
Joe Biden is the most corrupt president in the history of our country. I’m surprised he still goes through Congress for money and doesn’t use his personal brute squad in the FBI to go take it.
