You know what’s interesting? While everyone’s been focused on the latest political drama, something pretty significant has been happening in media land that most people aren’t talking about. Remember Stephen Colbert getting the boot? Well, now Howard Stern is heading for the same fate. And honestly, it’s been a long time coming.
This is the guy who spent twenty years flooding the airwaves with what critics call rabid left-wing wokeness. And now? SiriusXM is yanking the cord on his $100 million contract. Let that sink in. This isn’t some minor budget cut—this is the collapse of what used to be a radio empire.
The reason Stern is finally getting shown the door might make you smile a little. This is the same person who made his entire career out of what many saw as corrupting American culture. It went on for decades. But now it looks like the chickens have come home to roost.
So what exactly happened here? Howard Stern, the guy who critics say spent decades dragging broadcast standards into the gutter, is finally being shown the door. And it comes down to two simple things: his politics and his ratings. That’s the whole story.
Word is that executives at SiriusXM are planning to make him an offer they’re pretty sure he’ll reject. It’s corporate speak for “we want you gone.” By all accounts, his show just doesn’t justify the cost anymore.
But here’s the part that really tells the story. Reports suggest his audience has crashed from 20 million listeners down to just 125,000. That’s not just a ratings slump. That’s a complete collapse.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELWhat’s really happening behind closed doors? Why should this matter to people who still care about traditional values like faith, family, and freedom? Well, Stern’s five-year $500 million contract expires this fall. Multiple industry sources are saying the company is fed up with his TDS.
One insider apparently called it Stephen Colbert 2.0. OUCH! Executives watched Colbert’s spectacular failure and decided they didn’t want to repeat that mistake. The risk just isn’t worth it anymore.
It’s not only about the bottom line, though. Another source mentioned that his political ideology was a major factor in this decision. The choice is directly connected to the current political climate.
What does that mean? It’s pretty straightforward. Companies are finally realizing that alienating millions of Americans tends to backfire.
Exactly right. And that’s the part the mainstream media won’t touch with a ten-foot pole. Wokeness is a sinking ship—Patriotism and America First are what’s rising to take its place.
Let’s revisit what Stern actually said during the recent campaign season. He said, “I hate the people who vote for Trump. I think they’re stupid. I have no respect for them at all.”
That quote pretty much sums up everything you need to know.
It’s the same attitude that destroyed Colbert’s career. Jimmy Kimmel even said the quiet part out loud when he told Trump supporters, “Get out of here.” And you know what? Most of them already had. He didn’t need to ask twice. People tuned in to Howard Stern because he was funny. He was outrageously funny, the only one who was doing what he did. And then he went woke left. And like all the late-night talk show hosts who did the same thing, Howard was no longer funny. He became a crusty old liberal no different than his old mentor, David Letterman.
Howard Stern used to at least pretend he was some kind of rebel outsider. He played up this whole anti-establishment persona. But that act ended around 2020. He didn’t grow or develop as a person. He just completely sold out.
He turned into a cheerleader for the very same establishment he used to mock relentlessly. And this wasn’t some gradual shift either. He became the poster child for everything he once opposed.
He actually went so far as to suggest unvaccinated people should be denied hospital care. His exact words? “Let them die.”
That’s a real quote. He actually said that. This isn’t about pushing boundaries for entertainment value anymore. This is about how Howard Stern morphed into everything he used to rail against.
He blamed unvaccinated people for prolonging the Pandemic. Before that, I had thought that even though Stern was a clown, I thought he was intelligent. He complained that he had to stay indoors for two years, never leave his home, because of unvaccinated people. And it never dawned on him that if the vaccines work and you got vaccinated, then how are unvaccinated people going to give you COVID?
For four decades, he built his fortune by breaking social taboos. He earned the title The King of All Media. Nobody could argue with that.
But these days? He’s not shocking anybody. He’s not pushing any envelopes. He’s just predictable and dull.
Consider his fawning interview with Joe Biden. Stern said things that would probably embarrass even CNN’s producers.
He described Biden as a lifeguard and father figure. He praised Biden’s family as “extraordinary.” He thanked Biden for being a “calming influence” and for “standing up to Putin.”
The praise just kept coming. “I don’t know what people are looking for in a president,” he said, before launching into a series of Democratic talking points. “The lowest uninsured rate in history.” “Four out of five Americans are covered for less than $10 a month.” “Cutting the emissions in half.” “Even the marijuana reform laws.” “Respect for Marriage Act.” Then he added, “What the hell is with people with this gay stuff? Who cares if someone’s gay?” Conservatives don’t care if you’re gay either. They just don’t like it when political power is shoved in their face and they’re told, “We are gay, and have to accept us and love us and accept us.”
That whole exchange perfectly captures what happens when a supposed rebel trades in actual rebellion for establishment bootlicking.
Keep in mind, this is the same person who racked up $2.5 million in FCC fines between 1990 and 2004. That remains the largest penalty in American radio history. Those fines were specifically for “sexually lewd and degrading content.”
Now he thinks he’s qualified to lecture the rest of America about moral standards?
This is textbook narcissism in action. Someone who built his entire brand on crude content now believes he’s the moral compass for the entire country. Howard Stern is walking around acting like he’s America’s guidance counselor. It’s almost comical.
He sits down with Kamala Harris for interviews. He lectures people about getting their COVID boosters. He’s no longer fighting the system. He is the system.
One media observer nailed it when they said, “Howard Stern didn’t just go woke; he went boring.”
That’s exactly right. He stopped being interesting or unpredictable. He turned into a mouthpiece. He started repeating Democratic talking points and sucking up to Hollywood celebrities.
That transformation actually makes perfect sense when you think about it. Researchers have looked into this phenomenon. They argue that shock jocks like Stern promote what they call a “boy-man identity.” That describes someone who “rejects tradition, masculinity, and responsibility.”
Boy-men don’t want to serve their communities or country. They don’t believe in duties or obligations. They want to live entirely by their own rules. They’re interested in tearing things down, not building anything constructive.
That’s essentially what Howard Stern became over the years.
He helped create the cultural environment that’s been undermining American families and traditional values. The Democratic Party has embraced that same mentality. It’s not accidental. They’ve found common ground.
Both reject America’s historical traditions. Both attack conventional gender roles and sexual ethics. Both seem determined to destroy the cultural inheritance that past generations left us.
But here’s what they didn’t anticipate. That whole era is coming to an end.
November 5th represented a turning point. The American people made their choice clear. That decision mattered. And now we’re seeing the consequences play out. And for once, it’s the Left that is paying those consequences.
The anti-Trump media establishment is finding itself increasingly cornered.
Colbert got the axe. Stern is getting dropped. Companies are finally understanding what many regular Americans figured out long ago. Alienating conservatives isn’t just immoral. It’s corporate seppuku with a smile.
The woke media landscape is crumbling. Stern is just the latest casualty.
